Pelagos & RAMOGE Agreements event

Last 15th October, the Pelagos and RAMOGE Agreements organised their 1st joint event since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in March 2024.

The event, welcomed by the Communauté d’Agglomération de la Riviera française, took place at the Sciences Po Campus in Menton and brought together Pelagos Ambassadors, Municipalities, managers of Marine Protected Areas and National Parks as well as several partners of the two Agreements.

After the presentation of the missions and ongoing projects of the two Agreements, particularly with regard to pollution reduction, the participants, divided into groups, took part in a collective brainstorming session.
Municipalities, managers of MPAs and National Parks and scientific experts discussed four topics illustrating environmental pressures. Pelagos Ambassadors (boaters committed to the preservation of the Pelagos Sanctuary) discussed the perspectives of their partnership with the Pelagos Agreement and how to engage in the RAMOGE Agreement.

At the end of the day, the Agreements inaugurated the work ‘Window on the Mediterranean’ by artist Anthony Alberti, created in collaboration with students and participants, which will remain on exhibition at the Sciences Po Campus in Menton!

The following day, during the annual National Committee of the Pelagos Sanctuary of the French Party, organised by the National Park of Port-Cros, the Municipality of Menton renewed the Pelagos Partnership Charter!
