The Permanent Secretariat takes part in the Adapt-Pelagos workshop on sustainable cruising in the Pelagos Sanctuary
On 16 September 2025, at the Yacht Club of Monaco, the Permanent Secretariat participated in the meeting organised within the framework of the Adapt-Pelagos project, actively contributing to the thematic workshop on sustainable cruising and recreational boating in the Pelagos Sanctuary.
Coordinated by Plan Bleu and supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and ADEME, the Adapt-Pelagos project promotes the development of sustainable blue economy practices by engaging institutions, NGOs, the scientific community, and local stakeholders.
During the event, the Executive Secretary, Prof. Maria Betti, presented the High Quality Whale-Watching® label, a joint initiative of ACCOBAMS and the Pelagos Agreement, designed to encourage responsible tourism that respects marine wildlife.
Participation in this workshop provided an additional opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and support the dissemination of best practices for marine conservation and sustainable development in the Mediterranean.
