10th Meeting of the Parties to the Pelagos Agreement (MOP10)

On 12–13 November 2025, the 10th Meeting of the Parties to the Pelagos Agreement (MOP10) took place in Monaco, bringing together representatives of the three Member States (France, Italy, and the Principality of Monaco) as well as numerous partners, collaborators, and observers. During the meeting, the final actions of the 2025-26 work programme, which will conclude the 2022–2027 management plan, were approved to ensure continuity of the Agreement’s priorities in the next five-year cycle 2028–2033.

The three Member States reaffirmed their commitment to work synergistically for the protection and enhancement of the Pelagos Sanctuary, a unique natural heritage in the Mediterranean.

MOP10 also marked an important institutional moment: as foreseen by the rotation system, the Presidency of the Agreement was entrusted to the Principality of Monaco for the next biennium 2026–2027.

In addition, an important Memorandum of Understanding was signed with REMPEC (Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea) to strengthen cooperation for the protection of the marine environment in the Mediterranean, with particular focus on the Pelagos Sanctuary.
