25 years of the Pelagos Agreement!
Today, the Pelagos Agreement celebrates 25 years since it was signed on 25 November 1999 in Rome.
Today we celebrate 25 years of coordinated actions to ensure a favourable conservation status of the marine mammals of the Pelagos Sanctuary by protecting them and their habitats from direct or indirect negative impacts of human activities.
The year-long celebrations will begin on December 18th 2024 with a scientific event at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco and will culminate at the 10th Meeting of the Parties, scheduled to take place in Monaco at the end of the 2025, passing through the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) to be held in Nice in June 2025.
